CORE TENETS OF MUN

Learning Objective: Students will gain a clear understanding of core Model UN terminology and develop a strong foundation in the program’s most essential concepts. By mastering key definitions, procedural structures, and delegate responsibilities, participants build the confidence needed to engage meaningfully in committee sessions and contribute effectively to debate and collaboration.

CREATING MOTION AND RULES OF PROCEDURE

Learning Objective: Students will learn to confidently navigate the technical flow of debate by mastering the strategic use of motions and procedural tools. Through guided practice, delegates develop the ability to influence committee pacing, steer discussion topics, and assert leadership in real time, empowering them to actively shape outcomes rather than simply react to them.

BUILDING POWERFUL ALLIANCES IN COMMITTEE

Learning Objective: Students will develop the interpersonal and negotiation skills needed to identify strong allies within committee and build high-impact partnerships. Through strategic relationship-building and persuasive collaboration, delegates learn how to secure the support necessary to advance their resolutions and carry their ideas confidently across the finish line.

ART OF DEFENSE

Learning Objective: Students will learn how to protect their credibility in committee while maintaining unity within their bloc under pressure. Through strategic communication and composure in high-stakes moments, delegates develop the resilience and leadership skills needed to withstand aggressive opposition, preserve trust, and keep their coalition aligned through to final voting.
